Apathy is the deficiency of emotion, motivation, or enthusiasm. Apathy occurs as psychological term for a state of indifference — in which an personal is unresponsive or even "indifferent" to aspects of emotional, social, or even physical life. Clinical apathy is considered to become at an elevated level, when the moderate level may become considered depression, and an extreme level can be diagnosed as a dissociative disorder. A physical aspect of apathy associated sustaining physical deterioration, muscle loss, and want of energy is called lethargy — which has many pathological causes as well.

Apathy may be object-specific — toward the individual, activity or even environment. These are the most common reaction to stress where it manifests as "learned helplessness" and is commonly associated by using depression. It can as well reflect the non-pathological lack of interest in items 1 doesn't assume crucial. Certain drugs are known to cause consequences associated sustaining or even leading to apathy.

Apathy in common and religious terms
Contrary to most common belief, clinical diagnosing of "apathy" doesn't suggest laziness — but in most common utilise a correlation is like directly. Within religious doctrine, sloth is considered to become the sin which leads to further disassociation by having life & prescience — within this context, to become substantially disassociated is to be "in hell" which is to say 'in a state in which the spirit or soul is destroyed or otherwise around the state of destruction.'

A conception of disassociation is controversial — in the practice of several Eastern religions, for example, an advanced meditative state has aspects of extreme detachment — though a religion & ritual of meditation is believed to provide proper grounding like to properly recoup from either either the detachment & to advantage from its own household budget. Hence a bit of critics watch ascetics or saints as striving for the level of "apathy", which theologians prefer to call dissasociation or even detachment.
